Welcome to Season 20!

Connections are an integral part of the way we go through life. They come in all shapes, take many forms, and change us in indescribable ways. This season, we explore connections. Two people who have never met but feel linked through their shared fantasies. A wife with connections to her husband and children who suddenly finds herself drawn to a stranger in a way that will change her life. And a musical theatre company that began as a pipe dream and, through many connections, has been operating for almost 20 years. Welcome to this beautiful season.

MARRY ME A LITTLE

Music and Lyrics by Stephen Sondheim

April 24-26at the Bur Oak

Two single strangers, left alone in their studio apartments on a Saturday night, pass their time with sweetly secret, unshared fantasies, never knowing that they're just a floor away from each other and the end of their lonely dreams. Featuring trunk songs from popular Sondheim musicals, many of which were later restored to other shows, MARRY ME A LITTLE is a way to peek deeper into the mind of this master of contemporary musical theatre.

THE BRIDGES OF MADISON COUNTY

Music and Lyrics by James Robert Brown

Book by Marsha Norman

August 15-23 at the Play Circle in the Memorial Union

Francesca Johnson, a beautiful Italian woman who married an American soldier to flee war-ravaged Italy, looks forward to a rare four days alone on her Iowa farm when her family heads to the 1965 State Fair. When ruggedly handsome, National Geographic photographer, Robert Kincaid, pulls into her driveway seeking directions, though, what happens in those four days may very well alter the course of Francesca's life. Based on the best-selling novel and nominated for several Tonys, Bridges is a touching, fiercely romantic, and powerful testament to love and the question of “what if?”
